First Live Tweet Event Ever!!
Last Thursday, I did my first live tweet event! In the past, I used Twitter to retweet or like content but never to live-tweet the highlights of an event. I covered the New York Yankees vs the Toronto Blue Jays. These are two MLB (Major League Baseball) teams from the American League sitting barely above a .500 W/L percentage.
Starting pitcher for the Yankees, Jordan Montgomery pitched 4.2 innings, allowing five hits and three earned runs. Starting pitcher for the Blue Jays, Robbie Ray pitched 4.2 innings, allowing five hits and four earned runs. Ray had five strikeouts compared to Montgomery's one strikeout.
This game started with a double off the wall in the first inning to put the Yankees up 1-0. This was followed up at the beginning of the second inning with a three-run home run from Bo Bichette to give the Blue Jays a 3-1 lead. This is where the Yankee's right fielder, Aaron Judge, had himself a night. With a two-run home run and a sac fly late in the game, he was put up three RBI's himself giving the Yankees a 5-3 win for the evening. This was the Yankees' first win of the three-game series, avoiding the sweep.
The other two runs scored by the Yankees were from the double off the wall from Gio Urshela to bring in a Yankee baserunner and a solo home run from Gary Sanchez. This game was fun to watch and I'm glad we were able to do something like this for an assignment!
